Ira Kaufman has had 35 years of clinical experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples & families. In addition to maintaining private practices in both New York and Florida, he spent many years as an administrator in the public sector.
Working initially as the Assistant Director of The Linden Hill School, he became Director of the Hawthorne Cedar Residential Treatment Facility under the auspices of the Jewish Board of Family & Children Services. He later served as the Director of Training and Staff Development, Director of the Division of Development Disabilities and the Director of Foster Home Division for the Jewish Child Care Association.
Mr. Kaufman received his MSW from New York University in 1976. He continued his post graduate training at The Center for Modern Analytic Studies in New York City. He has published several articles and has made many presentations at national conferences. Mr. Kaufman has been frequently consulted with by local newspapers and magazines and has appeared on radio talk shows. Mr Kaufman has consulted in corporate, professional and academic settings assisting in personal issues, workplace incidents as well as increasing productivity.

Jody Kaufman is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been practicing for over 27 years. Ms. Kaufman received her Master's degree in Social Work from the Hunter School of Social Work in 1987. She received additional clinical post-graduate training at The Riverdale Center for Modern Psychoanalysis. Prior to her relocation to South Florida in 1999, she worked as a clinician in large mental health agencies in New York while maintaining a private practice in Westchester County specializing in the treatment of children, adolescents, adults and seniors.
Ms. Kaufman has particular interest and extensive experience in the treatment of depression, anxiety, post partum depression, issues specific to seniors, relationships, eating disorders, addiction, recovery, and the children of alcoholics.
Ms. Kaufman also supervises Social Work Interns to meet their state requirements for their licensure and LCSW's who are interested in furthering their training.
Dr. Chervony received his medical degree in 1984. He interned at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia and completed a residency in 1988 at The University of Miami's Jackson Memorial Hospital and Veteran's Administration Hospital. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Dr. Chervony has been the Medical Director of University Pavilion Psychiatric Hospital since 1996. He was the Chief of Staff of the Department of Psychiatry at University Hospital from 1996-2002 and returned to that position in 2006. He has been in private practice since 1988. Dr. Jeffrey Goidel is a licensed psychologist as well as a certified school psychologist in both Florida and New York. Dr. Goidel has over 2 decades of experience working with children, teens and families in public school and private clinical practice. He has a Bachelor of Arts in psychology, Summa Cum Laude, from Adelphia University in Garden City, NY. He received his doctorate in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology in Los Angeles.

Beth Greenstein is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience. She earned her master's in social work from Florida International University, graduating with honors.
Beth has a long history working in medical settings including hospital and dialysis centers. She counseled patients and their families with serious and chronic illness and pain. Her warm and understanding personality aided these patients in harnessing inner and external resources to live life to the fullest. In 1999, she was awarded Social Worker of the Year by the National Kidney Foundation.

Elaine S. Rubinson brings over 35 years of experience as a psychotherapist and grief counselor to The North Star Centre. She received her B.S. degree in Mental Health Technology from Hahnemann Medical College University in Philadelphia, Pa and her Master's Degree from Temple University.
Elaine worked for PATH Community Mental Health Center in Philadelphia as a therapist and Director of Mental Health Programs. In Florida, she was affiliated with the Renfrew Center, East Las Olas Psychological Group, Family Service Agency and in private practice. In addition, she has planned, organized and presented educational workshops and seminars.
Elaine has served on many professional task forces and Boards in Philadelphia and Florida. Her community work began years ago as a volunteer and officer of many charitable organizations. She has offered her clinical expertise to the shelter for battered women at Women in Distress, led widow and widower's groups and survivor's of suicide groups for the Mental Health Association of Broward County and a "Suddenly Single" workshop for Brandeis University National Woman's Committee. Dr. Melissa Marcus is a Florida licensed psychologist as well as a Nationally Certified School psychologist (NCSP). She is also a Credentialed Health Service Psychologist. Dr. Marcus received her Ph.D. in school psychology from Temple University and completed a post-doctoral fellowship under a Board certified neuropsychologist at Lynn University in Boca Raton, FL. She has obtained a broad range of experiences working in a variety of clinical settings with several populations that include private practice, K-12 school systems, university settings, and inpatient and out-patient mental health treatment programs.
Dr. Marcus received comprehensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) from the world-renowned Beck Institute in Philadelphia, PA. She utilizes a variety of evidence-based approaches during the course of psychotherapy and works with clients to form a strong therapeutic relationship that provides the foundation for successful treatment. Dr. Marcus has extensive experience in the assessment of psycho-educational, social-emotional, and behavioral evaluation of children and adults. She frequently consults with other health care providers and educational professionals to ensure continuity of care and assist with treatment planning.
Dr. Marcus also works with families going through transitions such as divorce/separation, including co-parenting issues and/or concerns, and is able to provide assistance with the development of Parenting Plans. She is a qualified Parenting Coordinator and Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Mediator.
Dr. Michelle Kaplan is a board certified adult psychiatrist, who attended college at Washington University in St. Louis and medical school at Rice University. She completed her residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center's- Zucker Hillside Hospital.
Dr. Kaplan was the director of inpatient psychiatry at St. Joseph's Medical Center, where she had extensive experience with electroconvulsive therapy.
Her expertise lies in a large range of psychiatric disorders including, mood disorders, depression, anxiety, neuro-developmental, somatic, cognitive issues and psychosis. This vast experience enables her to give her patients effective treatment and empathetic understanding.
Currently, she shares her time with Delray Medical Center-Fair Oaks and The North Star Centre.
Marcia Gonclaves- Terlep, LMHC, has been practicing for 16 years. She uses an integrated therapy approach, working with adults, children, adolescents, and families to resolve many issues including anxiety, depression, disruptive behavior, attachment issues, trauma, phobias and relationship difficulties.
Marcia's treatment modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy(CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy(DBT), Play Therapy, and EMDR, which is a powerful therapeutic method to accelerate the treatment of reprocessing painful traumatic memories.
Marsia feels strongly that an individualized approach grants her clients the ability to work through difficult emotional issues, making their personal lives happier and their relationships more pleasant.
