Ira Kaufman has had 35 years of clinical experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples & families. In addition to maintaining private practices in both New York and Florida, he spent many years as an administrator in the public sector.
Working initially as the Assistant Director of The Linden Hill School, he became Director of the Hawthorne Cedar Residential Treatment Facility under the auspices of the Jewish Board of Family & Children Services. He later served as the Director of Training and Staff Development, Director of the Division of Development Disabilities and the Director of Foster Home Division for the Jewish Child Care Association.
Mr. Kaufman received his MSW from New York University in 1976. He continued his post graduate training at The Center for Modern Analytic Studies in New York City. He has published several articles and has made many presentations at national conferences. Mr. Kaufman has been frequently consulted with by local newspapers and magazines and has appeared on radio talk shows. Mr Kaufman has consulted in corporate, professional and academic settings assisting in personal issues, workplace incidents as well as increasing productivity.

Jody Kaufman is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been practicing for over 27 years. Ms. Kaufman received her Master's degree in Social Work from the Hunter School of Social Work in 1987. She received additional clinical post-graduate training at The Riverdale Center for Modern Psychoanalysis. Prior to her relocation to South Florida in 1999, she worked as a clinician in large mental health agencies in New York while maintaining a private practice in Westchester County specializing in the treatment of children, adolescents, adults and seniors.
Ms. Kaufman has particular interest and extensive experience in the treatment of depression, anxiety, post partum depression, issues specific to seniors, relationships, eating disorders, addiction, recovery, and the children of alcoholics.
Ms. Kaufman also supervises Social Work Interns to meet their state requirements for their licensure and LCSW's who are interested in furthering their training.
Dr. Chervony received his medical degree in 1984. He interned at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia and completed a residency in 1988 at The University of Miami's Jackson Memorial Hospital and Veteran's Administration Hospital. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Dr. Chervony has been the Medical Director of University Pavilion Psychiatric Hospital since 1996. He was the Chief of Staff of the Department of Psychiatry at University Hospital from 1996-2002 and returned to that position in 2006. He has been in private practice since 1988. Dr. Jeffrey Goidel is a licensed psychologist as well as a certified school psychologist in both Florida and New York. Dr. Goidel has over 2 decades of experience working with children, teens and families in public school and private clinical practice. He has a Bachelor of Arts in psychology, Summa Cum Laude, from Adelphia University in Garden City, NY. He received his doctorate in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology in Los Angeles.
Dr. Goidel works with youngsters and families on issues includinganxiety, social problems, depression, grief/loss, divorce/separation, peer pressure, school problems, learning disability, developmental disability and ADHD. Beth Greenstein is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience. She earned her master's in social work from Florida International University, graduating with honors.
Beth has a long history working in medical settings including hospital and dialysis centers. She counseled patients and their families with serious and chronic illness and pain. Her warm and understanding personality aided these patients in harnessing inner and external resources to live life to the fullest. In 1999, she was awarded Social Worker of the Year by the National Kidney Foundation.

Elaine S. Rubinson brings over 35 years of experience as a psychotherapist and grief counselor to The North Star Centre. She received her B.S. degree in Mental Health Technology from Hahnemann Medical College University in Philadelphia, Pa and her Master's Degree from Temple University.
Elaine worked for PATH Community Mental Health Center in Philadelphia as a therapist and Director of Mental Health Programs. In Florida, she was affiliated with the Renfrew Center, East Las Olas Psychological Group, Family Service Agency and in private practice. In addition, she has planned, organized and presented educational workshops and seminars.
Elaine has served on many professional task forces and Boards in Philadelphia and Florida. Her community work began years ago as a volunteer and officer of many charitable organizations. She has offered her clinical expertise to the shelter for battered women at Women in Distress, led widow and widower's groups and survivor's of suicide groups for the Mental Health Association of Broward County and a "Suddenly Single" workshop for Brandeis University National Woman's Committee. She currently is Newsletter Editor and Publicity Chair for her community unit of Papanicolaou Cancer Research.

Ms. Webster comes to The North Star Centre with over a decade of experience. She earned her Masters in Social Work at Catholic University of America, Washington DC. She has post graduate clinical training in TF-CBT and Filia Family Play Therapy. And, she received her Adoption Specialist Certification at Rutgers University. She is currently licensed as a LCSW in both Florida and New York.
Ms. Webster’s experience comes from working in a variety of settings with adolescents, couples, adults, children and their families. Her specialties include depression, anxiety, trauma, grief/loss, bullying, LGBTQ/gender identity related issues, adoption, and family therapy.
She considers herself a Client Centered Therapist, who believes in working together with her clients in a comfortable setting helps them to achieve their goals. She strives to provide a “therapy space” that allows a client to feel safe and supported with a treatment model that is driven by the client.
